Summer Fruit Pops

I love summer and I love fruit.. So what can be better than a light fun snack that is easy to make and is healthy.

My friend asked for chilled fruit that we could munch on during the drive to the beach July 4th weekend but I decided to take it up a notch . These pops combine both chocolate and fruit, what’s better? They came out so yummy and were easy to eat in the car. This is also a cool treat for the kiddies.

Let me know what you think..Enjoy!

Last week I indulged in the frenzy that was Kanye Ice Cream week. Yes folks, there is such a thing. It’s kind of a big deal in honor of his birthday.  Hosted by First We Feast and Morgenstern’s Ice Cream Parlor, this is the second year that they sponsored this week long event. I wanted to see what all the hype was about and of course taste some Kanye inspired treats so I trooped down to LES from Harlem on the last day. My goodness! I expected a crowd but when I say the line was long, that joint was long! Folks were lined up all the way down the block. Who knew Kanye has so many foodie fans?. But the wait wasn’t horrible and I got to meet and chat with fellow foodies from near and farmorgensterns menu

When I finally got inside of Morgenstern’s, it was like a Kanye themed disco was going on! They were blasting all his hits, people were rapping and dancing and having a ball.  I had to do my famous 2-step when they threw on Jesus Walks (my Kanye fav).  I love the Morgenstern’s set up, like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The soda fountains and uniforms are so retro. The menu was cool too with Kayne inspired choices like, The Young Metro Milkshake (a frozen delight that features a big shot of Hennessy), the I Am A God Ice cream croissant-sandwich, the Nori Shake, the Paparazzi Pineapple Sorbet and my favorite, The Panda Cone. It’s such a cute little ice cream treat, almost too cute to eat. The cone was topped with coconut ice cream and broken up coconut ash cookies as the eyes, ears, and nose.. Very cute! And I must say, very tasty. I’m not a big coconut fan but this flavor was subtle and creamy

I must point out the fact that Kanye brings out a diverse, eclectic, artsy, fashionable and music- loving group of people. There were teens, middle agers, fashion bloggers, hip hop heads, tourist, club heads and foodies among the crowd. I really enjoyed myself, the whole experience was fun. I’ll definitely be back again next year

Oh and by the way,,… Happy Birthday Kanye!
